Responsible Alcohol Intake at your SpringHaus Farm Wedding
While planning a wedding in Athens Georgia can be such an exhilarating experience, you may find it is also filled with many very important decisions to consider. One important decision you will need to address regarding your special day is if you are planning to have alcohol at the wedding, and how you will encourage responsible drinking of your guests. Is that even a possibility when you are offering free alcohol? Of course, it is at SpringHaus Farm, located only 15 miles from Athens, in Comer, GA!
At SpringHaus Farm, we understand how important it is to you and your partner that everyone has a good time and celebrates with you! That is so very important to us as well! It is also vital to ensure that alcohol consumption is safe and mindful. At SpringHaus Farm we think it is important to discuss and provide you with some tips on how to promote responsible drinking at your wedding.
One of the first steps in encouraging responsible drinking at your wedding is to offer a variety of drink options. In addition to alcoholic beverages, make sure there are plenty of non-alcoholic drinks available for guests who choose not to drink or need a break from alcohol. There are some great mobile bars and most bartenders know firsthand the idea of having mocktails, water, fancy lemonades, and other refreshing drinks so that everyone can find something they enjoy without feeling pressured to consume alcohol.
Another important tip is to limit the amount of alcohol served during the reception. At SpringHaus Farm, there will be a 5-hour alcohol limit (county rules), and we also require a Sheriff to be present when alcohol is being served (actually, they will be there even when alcohol isn't being served). Another option would be to opt for a cash bar or limit the types of alcohol available to help control the amount consumed by guests. By making sure to set boundaries, you can help ensure that everyone has a good time while staying safe. At SpringHaus Farm, we value the safety of you and all of your guests on your special day. We take pride in that!
One thing to possibly think of is providing transportation options for guests who may have overindulged in alcohol. Consider arranging for shuttle services or rideshare options so that no one feels pressured to drive home after consuming alcohol. You can also include information about local taxi services or public transportation in your wedding program so that guests know how to get home safely if needed. SpringHaus Farm will have bartenders trained in responsible serving practices who can monitor guest behavior and cut off anyone who appears intoxicated.
Lastly, it's really important to lead by example when it comes to responsible drinking on your special day. As the hosts of the event, you and your partner need to model appropriate behavior when it comes to drinking. Make sure you’re not overindulging and are prioritizing safety and enjoyment for all of your guests throughout the celebration.
Planning a wedding is an exciting time, but it’s essential not to overlook the importance of promoting responsible drinking among your guests. Offer a variety of drink options, set limits on alcohol consumption, possibly provide transportation options, and lead by example, you should be able to create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone at your wedding celebration.
SpringHaus Farm toasts to you and a happy and safe wedding day!
