We also know some very creative couples with smaller guest lists and they have hosted beautiful weddings in the $10,000 - $15,000 range.

-
No. Many venues have minimums because they make a 10 - 15% commission from the caterer based on how much you spend on food and drinks.
-
We choose NOT to make a commission because we want our food and beverage options to be as elegant or affordable as your budget allows, and therefore we don't have a food and beverage or guest count minimum.
-
Some caterers may have a reasonable minimum for specific dates.

-
In the case of rain, we have a beautiful backdrop indoors with the SpringHaus Farm rustic barn doors and grand staircase.
-
Guests sit at their tables and the SHF team will move a few (usually 3 - 5) chairs down the middle of the room to create a beautiful aisle.
-
Our couples have loved this option because it’s a stunning ceremony location and doesn’t require the room flip other venues require, which would be disruptive to your event.

-
We are dog-friendly, with some specific stipulations.

Dogs are allowed (only with pre-approval by our owners Ginger & Paul) at the ceremony and pictures.

Do you include a "wedding day coordinator?"

-
This is such a great question! If you're trying to compare venues "apples to apples" we feel like this is a tricky question.
-
Our answer is yes, we have a day of wedding coordinator available for you to use that is specific to SpringHaus Farm.
-
We think it’s possible for the job duties of a "day-of wedding coordinator" to mean something different to you than it does to us, and the last thing we want is the opportunity for miscommunication.
-
Our day-of-wedding coordinator is a team leader here before you arrive onsite who stays with you throughout the duration of your big day.
-
This member of the SpringHaus Farm team is here to help you however they can (be an extra set of hands decorating, guide you around the farm for best photo ops, answer questions from your vendors direct them as necessary, keep your timeline in check, line up your party, etc.)
-
Their goal is to do everything possible to help your day go smoothly and ensure your day is as stress-free as possible!

-
Music on weekdays (Sundays - Thursdays) must conclude by 10:00 p.m. to be off-property by 11:00 pm.

Are candles allowed?

-
Great question! So, white oak barn and fire don't routinely go well together so, only flameless candles are allowed for safety reasons.

-
Actually we do!

-
Here is the link: Hooley's Events.

When the flower girl walks down the aisle, do you require real flower petals to be dropped?

-
We do not allow LOOSE artificial flower petals outside, for a few reasons, they blow away and we have cows/the donkey Radar just over in the other field and we don't want them choking on these items. Real flowers petals will dissolve.

For send off, do you allow sparklers to be used?

-
YES, you can have a sparkler exit outside away from the barn, the only thing we request is WE light them and ask your guests to hold onto it until we come with water or sand for them to place it in.
-
And adults only can be given a sparkler...why you ask? Our youngest got a 3rd degree burn by grabbing the end of the sparkler right after it went out when he was 5. It was the worst burn and he was in so much pain for days...I just don't want another child to have to go through that again!
-
You must let the day of insurance policy (Nuptial Risk) know you are going to be using sparklers as your send off, it may be a higher premium for that but we pride ourselves on transparency at all times.

Do you require cancellation insurance at this Athens, GA wedding venue?

Do you have a lost and found?

-
While we can hang onto things that folks leave behind, we are not responsible for said items, and will only keep them for 2 weeks (14 days) after the event. If you think you lost something, please call 706-THE-FARM.

Do you require day of insurance policy at this Athens, GA wedding venue?

Yes, we (as do many wedding venues), require a day of insurance policy via Nuptial Risk Insurance and is required to be purchased at least 30 days before the event.

Do you require a damage deposit?

Such a great question! A $750 damage deposit will be required upon signing of the contract. The damage deposit will be returned in the event all conditions are met (including, but not limited to a post-inspection of SpringHaus Farm premises after the event being held, as well as other conditions outlined in our contract). Upon completion of your event, there will be an inspection of the entire SpringHaus Farm premises. Upon completion of a satisfactory inspection (a room-by-room checklist), your refund will be processed. During the post-inspection following your event, no damage to the property and the entire facility (including parking lots, walking trails and outdoor areas) should be noted. Additionally, the facility must be left clean with all trash removed the night of the event. Failure to complete the exit inspection and vacate the premises by 12 am will result in a portion or all the $750 damage deposit being forfeited by Wedding Party: SpringHaus Farm is a NO SMOKING/NO VAPING event hall. ANY smoking or vaping inside the facility can result in a forfeiture of the $750 damage deposit.

Is the retainer fee and the damage deposit a part of the rental cost or would those be separate charges?
The retainer DOES go toward the rental fee. 2nd: The damage deposit we collect on booking because frankly collecting it closer to the wedding was like herding cats, couples always forgot, didn't want to pay it, fought us tooth and nail. This is refundable and will be returned about 5-7 business days after the event once we conduct our detailed checklist to make sure there aren't any damages to the property and all checks out.

No glass bottles/ no BYOB, however- is champagne ok for wedding party suites before the ceremony?
*Before the ceremony, you all are more than welcome to have Mimosas or drinks in the wedding party suites. 30 minutes PRIOR to the ceremony our liquor license takes effect. We will have to gather all the outside alcohol, keep it in a locked room and you get it all back when you leave. This is a Georgia law. Please no shots!

Decorators are not able to use tape, staples, or tacks but what option would be acceptable in the decorating process?
*We have had decorators put nails in the wall and we just can't have that or nails/staples in the beams. The arbor can be stapled in the back if needed! Command strips are the best bet, tape on walls can cause paint to peel. Wire tires for florals are a great option as well!
